We moved on to the farm in 2014. My corporate day job has always required me to travel long distances and spend much of my time in either my car or the office, away from my home and family.
Dairy farm life can be pretty tough and is very demanding – since we moved here I longed for the opportunity to be at home more, supporting Sean and making my own contribution to the development and growth of the fourth generation farm business. In 2016 I was very fortunate to be successful in my application for business start-up funding, sponsored by LEADER; a fund that supports farm diversification, women in rural economy and small enterprise in the Yorkshire Dales.
Establishing a business that would allow me to share my passion for Yorkshire, the countryside and our farming community with visitors from around the world has always been my goal. Opening Little Seed Field in 2017 has been the culmination of years of dreaming, hard work and support from all of our friends and family. I can now be outdoors, spend more time with my boys and support Sean in the day to day management of the dairy business – all whilst doing something I absolutely love, showing off the Dales and ensuring our guests enjoy their visit!
If you are looking for somewhere unique to stay, somewhere that can be a bit wild but a great base from which to explore, somewhere off the beaten path but with stunning views and with some of the luxuries of home, then Little Seed is just what you need!
