How many of you caught the BBC documentary a few weeks ago about dairy farming?  Watching that made us feel sad and frustrated about the biased representation of farming often presented by the BBC.  This is what we have to say in response:

It surely cannot be effective and fair journalism to use a sample of ONE to demonise ALL? It can only be that the agenda is sensationalism; a quick, hard hit of emotion fired only to break those working their hardest to be the exact opposite of what that show was displaying.

Our only hope can be that as rational beings, we seek further evidence. We ask more questions. We increase the sample size.

Please, ask a farmer. Experience life on a farm. Ask the processors and dairies what their standards are for their farms and what the consequences are for not adhering to them.

BUY BRITISH MILK.

Seek the brands that push hard for welfare and sustainability.

Be prepared to pay more so that those who do not push hard for welfare and sustainability, are forced to stop.

When we are available, we are happy to give you a tour of our farm. You can meet the cows, watch them being milked and see for yourself that there are some GREAT farmers out there.

It appears that being a great farmer just doesn't make good tele 🙄😬🤦‍♀️
