Glamping amongst nature

Glamping amongst nature

Nature rewards our brave winter glampers!

Owls, deer, dark skies and more...winter glamping is a treat!

Winter is a much less popular time of year to visit our glamping site.  It's easy to understand why...it's darker, colder, wilder and definitely a little bit wetter!

However, the winter brings so many treats from nature that, those guests who do join us, are often spoiled with spectacles not seen at any other times of the year.

We are very lucky to be in a dark sky reserve, which means we have very little light pollution here.  On a clear night between October and March you can see thousands of stars without any need for telescopes or special equipment.

We also have deer and barn owls living in the wild here on site.  In the winter they can often be found grazing and hunting in the glamping field or on the surrounding farm land.  They love the peace and quiet and will often hide away when the site is busy with people.  If you wake early or love to watch the sun set, sit in your porch quietly and you are sure to catch a glimpse of some of these shy creatures.

We have a whole section on our Instagram page dedicated to showcasing nature and how a glamping stay with provides a unique opportunity to get out and enjoy the wild, even in winter!

Bring thick socks, light the log stove, switch off the phone and hang out in Yorkshire!
