Make Memories Wildly

Luxury glamping in the Yorkshire Dales, near Ripon

Let nature nurture you in a place where sweeping landscapes, big skies and log fires await.

Estblished in 2017, our dog friendly glamping breaks are embedded in a place where time flows slowly.  A place where log cabins, set in the natural landscape of the Yorkshire Dales, provide a haven for pressing pause on the hectic pace of the digitally and emotionally demanding world.

At Little Seed Field, nature and comfort coexist beautifully.  Explore the great outdoors. Embrace seasonal changes.  Dedicate time to simple pleasures.  Enjoy real, comfy beds, warm duvets, cosy log burners and the most spectacular view of the sunset.

Set within seven acres of land and with just seven cabins on site (four of which are ensuite), Little Seed Field is a wild sanctuary, providing space and romance and adventure, and (we very much hope) - a great nights sleep!

Yorkshire glamping cabins with high standards & low impact

There aren’t many places as spectacular as the Yorkshire Dales for a natural glamping adventure.  Our aim is for sustainability to appear effortless here.  We exist with nature all around our site and the establishment of our glamping site has enhanced the wildlife habitats that are present here.

For us, our impact is measured by the presence of the wildlife our visitors regularly see and tell us about...and in the way many of our guests return year after year.

“Loved our stay here. The en-suite cabin was welcoming, clean and well-maintained. The scenery was beautiful, a visit from a snowy owl morning and evening, a sky full of stars, peaceful and calming. A lovely place to relax, unwind and just be. We can't wait to come back.”

Frequently Asked Questions about Glamping with us

Little Seed Field is a family-run glamping site nestled in Nidderdale, near Ripon, North Yorkshire. Set on a working dairy farm, our seven cosy glamping cabins are surrounded by big skies, woodland, ponds, wildlife and open countryside.

We are big on authentic, romantic, country escapes. Our glamping site is a great base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, while providing somewhere peaceful to relax, slow down and enjoy the great outdoors.

Little Seed Field is deliberately different from a traditional holiday park. We have just seven cabins set across seven acres of land. We offer space. With a wild backdrop. And nature right there on your doorstep. No gimmicks.

Our cabins are cosy. Designed with super comfortable beds, log-burning stoves and private outdoor spaces. There are no rows of identical units or manicured grounds here – just countryside, wildlife, big skies and plenty of opportunity to switch off.

Absolutely. Our cabins are particularly popular with couples looking for a romantic escape in Yorkshire.

Imagine a cosy log burner, countryside views, an evening around your own fire pit and dark skies overhead. Wild Bramble cabin is especially suited to couples, with a king-size bed and a more private position overlooking the glamping site.

We can also arrange romantic extras such as flowers, cakes and celebration surprises!

Yes! Little Seed Field is a dog-friendly glamping site in the Yorkshire Dales, we love welcoming four-legged members of the family (we have two Springadors of our own, Roxy and Storm).

Dogs are welcome to stay in any / all our cabins.

We usually allow a maximum of two dogs per cabin (this can be flexible depending on breed and the number of human guests staying in the cabin).

Some do. We have four ensuite cabins – Bird Cherry, Meadowsweet, Field Mouse and Wild Bramble. These cabins have their own private integrated washroom (toilet, shower hand basin).

Our three standard cabins – Yorkshire Fog, Foxtail and Woodland Clearing – use the shared washroom facilities in our on-site amenity building, just a short walk from the cabins (these guests have the bonus of seeing the best dark skies on their late night loo trips).

Yes. Every cabin has its own log-burning stove, making them warm and cosy when the Yorkshire weather turns chilly.

Our ensuite cabins also have centrally heated washrooms with radiators.

There's something rather special about returning from a countryside walk, lighting the stove and settling down for the evening while the fire crackles away.

We provide the bedding and everything you need to make your cabin comfortable, although we encourage guests to embrace the fact that this is still an outdoor experience and you may like to bring slippers, extra blankets etc.

No – and that's intentional.

Little Seed Field is designed as somewhere to disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with nature, each other and yourself (unfortunately the mobile reception is pretty good these days, so you can get online if you really need to).

Instead, you'll find woodland walks, wildlife, ponds, fire pits, dark skies and plenty of opportunities to simply slow down.

Our cabins are equipped with bedding, crockery, cutlery, drinkware, a kettle, lighting, seating and a fire pit/BBQ, so you don't need to bring everything you'd take camping.

We recommend bringing outdoor or walking shoes, a torch, water bottles, slippers and extra layers for cooler evenings. A picnic blanket can also be useful for relaxing beside the pond or enjoying the countryside.

Remember that glamping is still an outdoor experience, so waterproofs and sensible footwear are always a good idea in Yorkshire!

You can do as much or as little as you like.

There are walks and countryside to explore from the site, woodland, ponds and wildlife to discover, and plenty of opportunities to sit around the fire and simply enjoy the surroundings.

We're also surrounded by the landscapes and attractions of North Yorkshire. There are two National Trust properties nearby, Newby Hall, Lightwater Valley and Forbidden Corner. There are cute market towns to explore in Pateley Bridge and Masham. Plus, endless cycling and walking routes. If you would like to indulge in super luxury during your stay, check out the spa or afternoon teas on offer at Grantley Hall.

Stargazing in the winter and spring is amazing here – you don’t have to know anything about dark skies to be amazed by how many stars and satellites you can see in the sky at night in the countryside.

Our favourite thing to do – light the fire and enjoy a little glass of whiskey as the sun goes down. Perfect.

Yes. Our cabins have a double bed and bunk beds, making them suitable for families as well as couples and small groups.

The site gives children the chance to experience nature, wildlife, woodlands and the outdoors. A place for families to find fun together in traditional ways. Try toasting marshmallows and squashing them between chocolate biscuits. Or hunting for weird creatures lurking in the ponds. Simple bliss.

Yes. Little Seed Field is open for glamping breaks throughout much of the year, and every season brings something different.

Spring brings new growth and wildlife in the ponds, summer offers long evenings and stunning sunsets, autumn fills the landscape with colour and winter is perfect for cosy (and sometimes very wild) evenings beside the log burner and the most spectacular dark skies.

Try not to worry about the weather – we think there is something wonderful about being cosy in a cabin while the Yorkshire weather does its thing outside!

Yes. Our glamping site is located within a dark sky reserve, we have very little light pollution here. Stargazing is one of the special, completely free, experiences you can enjoy during your stay.

We deliberately keep outdoor lighting to a minimum and are committed to protecting the dark skies around the site. On a clear night, step outside your cabin, look up and you may see far more stars than you're used to seeing at home.

It's one of the simplest – and most memorable – ways to reconnect with nature.

Nature and conservation are at the heart of Little Seed Field. Our cabins sit within the existing landscape, surrounded by wild areas, woodland, ponds and wildlife habitats.

We minimise external lighting to protect the dark skies, source firewood locally from sustainably managed woodlands and provide recycling facilities.

We're not trying to create a manicured holiday park. Instead, we want to protect and enhance the wild character of the farmland and give guests the opportunity to experience nature as it really is.

Absolutely. Little Seed Field is a lovely place to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, proposals and other special occasions. We offer exclusive hire of the site if you are looking for a larger family and friends gathering for two or more nights.

We offer a range of optional extras that can be added for your arrival, including flowers, cakes, chocolates, fizz, bunting and other romantic surprises.

Just let us know what you're celebrating and we'll do our best to help make your stay extra special.

Yes – that's one of the reasons glamping is so popular!

You get the experience of being close to nature without sleeping in a tent. Our cabins have proper beds, bedding, lighting, seating and log-burning stoves, giving you a comfortable place to retreat to after a day outdoors.

There are some differences from staying in a hotel – you're outside, you'll experience the weather and wildlife, and our site has limited electricity and no Wi-Fi – but that's all part of the Little Seed Field experience.

If you want to try camping (or have had enough of soggy canvas), glamping can be the perfect introduction.

Our cabins are designed for couples, families and small groups. All of the cabins have a double bed and bunk beds, while Wild Bramble has a king-size bed and a single pull-out bed.

With seven cabins across the site, Little Seed Field can also be booked for larger group stays, exclusive hire and special occasions.

Yes we do! You can hire our site for exclusive use for 7 – 27 guests (depending on how cozy you like to get). We also offer the option of hiring our party barn and bar staff for an evening of drinking, dancing, crafting, and so much more…

No. This is on purpose.

We have done lots of research into hot tubs but we just cannot find a way of installing them that is sustainable for the environment. We also advocate enjoying the peace and quiet of the countryside, and have decided that hot tubs just do not match with that objective.

We are located in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire. Although remote, we are just 10 minutes from Pateley Bridge and Ripon, 25 minutes from Harrogate and only 1 hour from Leeds and York.
