We are perfectly located for cycling and walking breaks – leave the car on site and head out into the Dales to explore. The Tour de Yorkshire and other cycling events run close by and there are endless well mapped walking, hiking and cycle routes for you to explore. Our site is located right on the mapped ‘Mosaic Trail’ through Dallowgill and ‘Hack Fall’ is a 5 minute drive from our site. The walks at Hack Fall were voted in the Top 25 Spring Walks in the UK as part of a recent newspaper poll.
The heather moorland that surrounds the farm is an area of special scientific interest. As a habitat it is home to huge amount wildlife – not least the birds of prey, wild deer and game birds. In September the heather comes out in full bloom providing some amazing landscape photography opportunities.
Unfortunately, our local pub was recently lost in a fire. There is a pub and curry house in our local village (Kirkby Malzeard), where you can also find local corner shop and butchers who can provide basic supplies. Pateley Bridge is a short drive away and has larger selection of shops, two very well renowned butcher shops (Kendall’s is our favourite) and a fabulous Italian restaurant.
